Objectives : The course aim is the understanding of the general relationships between microscopic and macroscopic scales for heterogeneous media taking into account the elementary physical mechanisms. This course presents the general methodology of micromechanical modelling and some classical models applied on particle reinforced composites or polycrystalline metals. Developments are mostly limited to linear, possibly anisotropic, elasticity but some indications on plasticity and damage are given. Exercises rely on analytical derivations but numerical tools are introduced in the last lecture. |
